As of last week, we have officially made all of 'Pixel-Legs' we could out of our initial laser cuts. There were a few rejects due to misalignment issues of laser cutting, but we still have over 350+ pixel legs ready to move on with the next stage of assembly!

As an update, our Acrylic Solvent is working like a charm! The solvent dries very quickly, and because of its very low viscosity, it is able to spread into tiny crevices and cracks between two parts using capillary action and bond them together very quickly. This has dramatically reduced assembly times, and made the prospect of creating 100 pixels far less tedious.

For the actual assembly of the pixels, similar to the assembly of the legs, we used a 3d printed jig to align the legs for the assembly to the "Pixel Face". This would constrain the legs, and make the gluing much easier.

We worked on the assembly for several hours, and by the end, we had 25 pixels to show for our efforts!

For next steps, we will be continuing the production of Pixels, while also working out the mounting of motors, and the beginnings of the electrical and controls structure required to make our device function.
